Maximum technically permissible laden mass

Vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of more than 3.5 tonnes are subject to the mileage-based toll obligation. For this purpose, a GO-Box or another on-board unit authorised for the GO toll in Austria is required.

The maximum permissible weight is listed in cell F.2.

The following transitional regulation applies to vehicles with a technically permissible total mass over 3.5 tonnes and a maximum permissible total weight up to and including 3.5 tonnes, which previously had to pay the time-based car toll (vignette and route toll):

Transitional regulation

Motor vehicles,

which have a maximum permissible weight of no more than 3.5 tonnes at the time of using the toll road and
which were first registered before 1 December 2023 and
for which the maximum permissible weight was determined as being no more than 3.5 t before 1 December 2023,

are considered vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of no more than 3.5 t until 31 January 2029 and are therefore subject to vignette and section tolls.

You can only make use of the transitional regulation if you meet the requirements and provide us with proof.

Motor vehicles with an initial registration date from 01.12.2023 must pay the mileage-based HGV toll.

Check the information on the technically permissible maximum laden mass in the registration certificate in field F.1 and, if necessary, obtain a GO-Box or another vehicle device authorised for the GO toll in Austria.
