On this page, we inform you about how to register for the GO toll system with a GO-Box.
You can obtain a GO-Box from one of our GO points of sale. You can recognise our GO points of sale by these symbols:
For signage, please refer to Annex 5 of the tolling regulations.
Present the registration certificate of your motor vehicle at the point of sale and ask for a GO-Box for HGVs.
Category, basic category and number of axles
Inform the GO point of sale of the minimum number of axles or number of axles of the tractor unit/tractor vehicle. This is stored as a basic category on the GO-Box. The basic category cannot be undercut and can only be changed at the GO point of sale.
Always adjust the category to the actual number of axles with which you are travelling at the time of toll payment (change the number of axles). You can choose between three settings (category): 2, 3 and 4.
The number of axles must include attached lift axles, tandem axles and double axles. Supporting axles and trailers, on the other hand, are not taken into account when determining the number of axles.
The correct setting of the category is essential for the correct payment of the toll.
Example: You drive a tractor with 3 axles. Have the basic category 3 stored on the GO-Box. If you tow a trailer or semi-trailer, you must change the category to 4. If you remove the trailer or semi-trailer again, you must change the category back to 3. Category 2 cannot be set if the basic category 3 has been saved.

Be on the safe side!
- Check the details on the customer receipts that you get from the GO point of sale. Have incorrect information corrected on site!
- Ensure that your Vehicle Declaration is inside the vehicle at all times!
At the GO point of sale, you will receive instructions along with your GO-Box and the customer receipts on how to install the GO-Box. The correct installation of the GO-Box is essential for the correct payment of the toll.
Strict guidelines on exhaust emissions and noise pollution apply to motor vehicles in Austria. These are based on EU directives.
Your HGV’s exhaust emissions and noise pollution will affect your toll rate. You must therefore provide us with evidence of the rate-relevant characteristics (EURO emission class, drive type) of your vehicle. At the GO point of sale, the rate-relevant characteristics are only stored in the system, but not checked.
You must provide evidence of the rate-relevant characteristics within 28 days of registering for the GO toll system. If you miss this deadline, you must pay a substitute toll.
You can also send us evidence of the rate-relevant characteristics before you get a GO-Box.
Please bear in mind that the EURO emission class does not correspond to the environmental badge that must be affixed to windscreens in Germany.
Before, during and after your journey, make sure that the GO-Box is working.
If you no longer need the GO-Box, please return it to us.
How you check whether your GO-Box works:
Before and after your trip, check whether your GO-Box works. To do this, press the service button and observe the indicator light:
Pay particular attention to the acoustic signals emitted by the GO-Box during your trip. When passing through the toll gantries, acoustic signals inform you about transactions between the GO-Box and the toll gantry.
The GO-Box is a loan device. You only pay a EUR 5 processing fee when you pick it up.
If you no longer need the GO-Box, please return it to our GO points of sale. We will reuse it or recycle it.
We wish you a safe journey!
